The Oaklands is a mature neighborhood, developed in the 1980s and 1990s, in western Round Rock. It is known as an established, quiet, family-friendly neighborhood with numerous, towering trees and excellent public schools, located close to Round Rock’s major medical centers. Most of the homes in this neighborhood sell in the mid-$200s to mid-$300s.

Residents of the Oaklands enjoy a variety of amenities, including community pool, clubhouse, and tennis courts. Brushy Creek runs along the eastern side of the Oaklands neighborhood, accompanied by a large greenbelt.

The Oaklands is located just north of Round Rock Avenue, between Wyoming Springs Drive and Interstate 35, within the borders of Mockingbird Drive to the north, Round Rock Avenue to the south, Brushy Creek to the east, and Oakwood Boulevard on the west. It is in Williamson County, in the 78681 zip code.

The Oaklands neighborhood lies just northeast of some of Round Rock’s largest health care centers, including the Round Rock St. David’s Medical Center, Wyoming Springs Medical Center, and Park Valley Inn Health Center. This makes the community a great option for healthcare workers and their families.

Homes in The Oaklands

The Oaklands was developed from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s. The majority of home prices in this neighborhood range from the $230s to the $350s. Most of the lot sizes are from a tenth to a third of an acre, though a few larger lots can be found, particularly on the western side of the neighborhood.

Homes in the Oaklands typically are two stories and have three to five bedrooms, two to three and a half baths, and garage space for two cars. Most homes are sized with square footage in the 2000’-3000’ range, though some as small as 1,873 square feet and as large as 6,426 square feet do exist in this community. In the past year, sellers listed their homes for $230,225-$698,000, and these homes sold for $220,00-$662,000, or $85-$137/square foot. Some of the homes back to Brushy Creek and have greenbelt views. Many have been upgraded with pools, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and hardwood floors. Common extras found in these homes include multiple living areas, upstairs game rooms, walk-in closets, garden tubs, and spa-like master bathrooms.

The Oaklands Amenities

Residents of The Oaklands enjoy close access to nature with the neighborhood’s locale on Brushy Creek. A large greenbelt runs along the eastern side, as well as to the north of the neighborhood. The lots are wooded, with tall, mature oaks and other native trees. A homeowner’s association governs the neighborhood’s planned amenities, including the community pool, clubhouse, and tennis courts.

Restaurants Near The Oaklands

Students in The Oaklands neighborhood are zoned to the lauded Round Rock Independent School District, and all of its schools are very close, just about a mile away. The elementary school is located within walking distance, along the western edge of the community, on Wyoming Springs Drive. The middle and high school for the neighborhood are also convenient, located about a mile southeast, off FM 620/Round Rock Avenue. Children in The Oaklands attend:
