Walsh Ranch is a small community of 238 homes in northwest Round Rock, surrounded by several other pleasant, master-planned suburban neighborhoods.  The community is named for the Walsh family, one of Round Rock’s prominent early families, who owned the ranch land upon which the neighborhood now stands. Homes here tend to be larger than average, over 3000 square feet.  Streets have wide sidewalks and main boulevards are lined with limestone fences for privacy and quiet.  Development of Walsh Ranch occurred in the mid-2000s.

Families are drawn to Walsh Ranch because of its convenient, highly rated schools, including Walsh Middle School, which is located inside the neighborhood, and kid-friendly amenities like playgrounds and a community kiddie pool.

The neighborhood is located two and a half miles west of I-35, running along Walsh Ranch Boulevard. The southern border of Walsh Ranch is Sam Bass Road, and the northern edge lies along Tourmaline Trail.  The western border is Great Oaks Drive and the eastern is Alexandrite Way. Walsh Ranch falls within the 78681 zip code.

Homes in Walsh Ranch

Walsh Ranch homes were built primarily in the years 2006-2010 by Drees Custom Homes, Highland Homes, and Taylor Morrison.  Houses in the neighborhood are larger than average, ranging from just under 3000 square feet to 4500 square feet. They typically have three to five bedrooms and two and a half to four bathrooms, with two to three car garages.  Lot sizes vary from .16 acres to over .55 acres.  List prices in the neighborhood run from the mid-$300s to high $500s.  In the past year homes sold from $354,000-$530,000, or a price per square foot of $111.00 ot $129.00.

Throughout the Walsh Ranch neighborhood, buyers will find higher-end features like hardwood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, crown moldings, high ceilings, media rooms and game rooms, jetted tubs, plantation shutters, and outdoor patios.  Some lots back up to greenbelts for added privacy.

Walsh Ranch Amenities

The neighborhood of Walsh Ranch offers family-friendly amenities, such as a community swimming pool area with covered patio and seating, a kiddie pool with splash fountain, a picnic area, a playground, and hike and bike trails.

Just a few minutes east is the City of Round Rock’s expansive 223-acre Behrens Ranch Park, giving residents ample space to enjoy the hill country beauty, stately oaks, and ponds.  The Behrens Ranch Greenbelt offers 1.53 miles of natural walking trails near the neighborhood.

Walsh Ranch is located in close proximity to Round Rock’s major higher education centers, including campuses for Texas State University, Texas A&M Health Science Center, and Austin Community College, as well as numerous shopping and dining options in both Cedar Park and Round Rock.

Walsh Ranch is served by the highly rated Round Rock Independent School District. The middle school is located within the neighborhood, and the elementary school is in the adjacent Behrens Ranch neighborhood, less than a mile away. Children in Walsh Ranch attend:
